Why Attend the BuildHer Executive Retreat?
For many attendees (myself included!) the decision to attend the BuildHer Retreat stemmed from a deep admiration for its founders. Having met Morgan Molitor at the first Contractor Coalition Summit and attended several of her online marketing classes, I was eager to reconnect and dive deeper. Allyson Anderson, also present at the Summit, is another builder I greatly respect and was excited to learn more from. And although I hadn't previously met Meghan Billings, her impressive Instagram presence and business acumen made me excited to meet her! Being a female entrepreneur in a predominantly male industry, I welcomed the chance to network with a community of women facing similar challenges.
The Purpose of the BuildHer Retreat
The BuildHer Executive Retreat was created to provide a nurturing space for women in construction. This retreat is designed to help us network, grow our businesses, and find camaraderie in a field where too many of us try to succeed alone. The custom home building and remodeling industry can already be a lonely place, add in the gender gap and you have a recipe for potential isolation. Thankfully, the BuildHer retreat exists to combat that.
Highlights of the BuildHer Executive Retreat
BuildHer was filled with countless highlights, starting with the stunning estate where we stayed. The openness of all attendees in sharing their business strategies, challenges, and successes was incredibly inspiring. In an industry where it can be tempting to gatekeep, watching women support each other and share resources freely was a major highlight!
Meeting many of these incredible women in person, after following their journeys on Instagram, was a surreal experience and added to the fun. What truly made this retreat special was the camaraderie among all the women. We rooted for each other, shared our stories, and supported each other's growth. The connections made were strong and we've continued to stay in touch even after returning home!
